Job Purpose:
The Oiler supports the engine department in daily operations, focusing on lubrication, cleaning, and maintenance of machinery. This role ensures smooth functioning of the vessel’s propulsion and auxiliary systems while assisting engineers in technical tasks and maintaining high standards of safety and housekeeping.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform engine room watchkeeping duties.
- Lubricate and clean machinery to ensure efficient operation.
- Assist engineers in routine and planned maintenance activities.
- Monitor engine parameters and report abnormalities.
- Support bunkering operations under supervision.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards in the engine room.
Required Documents & Certifications
- Certificate of Proficiency – Engine Rating (Reg. III/4 or III/5)
- STCW Basic Safety certification
- Engine Room Watchkeeping Certificate
- Valid Medical Certificate
- Seaman’s Book and Passport
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum required sea-time experience as an engine rating.
- Knowledge of lubrication systems, machinery cleaning, and basic maintenance.
- Familiarity with international maritime safety standards.

- Valid STCW 2010 (Manila Amendments)
- Previous SEV or offshore vessel experience preferred
